Insist, Instead : Spoken Poem

If you find yourself asking permission
To do things that with your heart and soul you know
Are meant to be
Insist, instead.
If you catch yourself doubting or asking others their opinion
And your inner voice is screaming
This must be done
Insist, instead.
If you worry that people will think you’re selfish
Or afraid someone will leave you
If you need to do it to be true to yourself
Stop the debate.
Insist, instead.

  1. I think this is just what I needed to hear. Its funny that people often feel guilty or selfish for following the path they are supposed to be on.
